SARA AREF

SILENCE AND HOPE
15 / 05 / 2026 - 30 / 05 / 2026

Sara Aref is an Iranian-Belgian visual artist based in Brussels whose work exists at the intersection of emotion, memory, and cultural dialogue. Her paintings are independent of passing artistic trends and emerge from an introspective process in which the artist acts as a sensitive intermediary, translating personal feelings into visual language while remaining in conversation with society and nature.

Her artistic path has been strongly shaped by migration and cultural hybridity. Moving from Iran to Western Europe led her to naturally build a bridge between Eastern and Western visual traditions, creating a synthesis that is both personal and universal.

She studied Painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and later exhibited her work in cities including Milan, Brussels, and Tehran, with early participation in the

Venice Biennale student section in 2016.
